There’s a small, carefully crafted list of unified comms and contact center events that I simply can’t miss during the year.
They’re the ones I make time for in my schedule and, as a freelancer, even forfeit billable time for. They’re part of my learning journey.
In this industry, information intake is critical. To stay ahead of the pack, you’ve got to know what the latest happenings are for each vendor.
The quality of topics and speakers
Zoomtopia checks all those boxes. Here’s why…
There are some top quality speakers on the UC/CC circuit. CEOs and CMOs that preach their company’s product and have you eating out the palm of their hand.
Eric Yuan is one such CEO. His passion for productivity, collaboration, and the future of technology is unrivalled. I think his stage presence is summed up by him “zooming” around in the image below.
He’s fun. He’s factual. He’s fearless in his predictions.

Aside from Eric, the agenda includes:
- Hayden Brown, CEO at Upwork
- Jon Batiste, Grammy Award-winning musician (access to this performance is limited to AMER Zoomtopia attendees only)
- Chris Paul, 12x NBA All-Star
- Katelyn Watson, Chief Marketing Officer at Talkspace
- Sal Khan, CEO at Khan Academy
- Smita Hashim, Chief Product Officer at Zoom
- Kimberly Storin, Chief Marketing Officer at Zoom
- Rajul Shah, General Manager of Events & Webinars at Zoom
- Aparna Bawa, Chief Operating Officer at Zoom
- Steve Rafferty, Head of APAC & EMEA Sales at Zoom
And that’s just the keynote!
Zoom puts together a great virtual event
It has to be said that Zoom’s virtual events (and hybrid events in previous years) are top tier.
Thanks, in part, to the quality of topics and speakers but also the execution of what remote attendees want and need. You’re not just sitting watching your screen. Rather, you’re interacting, networking, and participating.
Zoomtopia isn’t a one-way webinar. It’s a selection of carefully curated sessions for you to join like-minded folks without being subjected to topics you have little need for.
It’s those components (where you have to sit through everything) that turn people off virtual events. If it loses your attention, there’s a whole task list for you to get stuck into—unlike an in-person event where you’re wedged in by the audience and it feels rude to get up!
Zoom uses its own virtual event platform, Zoom Events, to host and manage Zoomtopia. It’s not only a great event; it’s a case study for its own technology.

The future of AI is intriguing
There’s no escaping artificial intelligence at any technology event in 2025 (nor the future).
Whether you’re a rapid adopter or an unimpressed naysayer, there’s no longer any benefit in denying AI technology is here to stay and here to help.
Throughout Zoomtopia, expect live demos of all Zoom’s latest AI features inside various applications:
- Agentic AI Companion
- Meeting Recap & Highlights
- Clip Generation
- Real-Time Transcription & Translation
- Calendar & Task Management
- App Orchestration
- AI Call Summaries, Dynamic Voicemail, Real-Time Call Q&A
- AI Expert Assist (Dynamic Agent Guides, Suggested Answers, Smart Notes)
- Virtual Agent with Memory & Reasoning
- Real-Time Analytics & Quality Management
- Revenue Accelerator (Virtual Coach, Risk Signals, Automated Insights)
- Custom Agent Creation & Bring Your Own Model
- AI Studio & Generative Flow Builder
- Multi-Language Support & Accessibility Features
There’s a Microsoft session?!
Zoom’s stance on interoperability and integration is clear: Many businesses use Microsoft components therefore it makes sense to work well together.
While it might be old school business strategy to want to displace your competitors, Eric Yuan has repeatedly been quoted as saying that customer needs must come first.
If customers have no intention of removing Microsoft from their technology stack, there must be a way for Zoom to not just integrate with a product, but improve the experience.
That’s precisely what Zoom will demonstrate in its session titled, Zoom + Microsoft: Where innovation meets AI. Here, Patrick Kelly, Distinguished Architect at Zoom (and former Microsoft consultant of 12 years), will walk through just how Zoom not only integrates with Microsoft products but can make entire processes more efficient and productive.
I don’t want to miss out on product announcements
There’s no pre-briefing of what’s going to be announced at Zoomtopia 2025 but you can bet there’s something going on behind the scenes. What better place to announce a new product/feature than your company’s flagship event, after all?
While I made some predictions about the future of Zoom in the State of Zoom 2025, we can make some sure bets about what’s going to be on display at Zoomtopia this year.
Expect to see Zoom Spaces in action, including AI-first experiences like photo check-in for visitor management and its sales auto dialer launched in July 2025.

You can also bet on tons of AI. Specifically, further innovation in the Zoom AI Contact Center. With “agentic” being the word of 2025, Zoom aims to lead with its agentic AI offerings to save time and increase productivity.
There’s a unique YOU focus this year
With YOUtopia, there’s an entire track dedicated to customers. This unique angle shows just how much Zoom is focussing on customers’ needs rather than using airtime to showcase its products.
Inside this track, you’ll get to hear from real customers using Zoom in their own unique ways to take Zoom to the next level.
Proving that Zoom isn’t just for meetings, expect to hear about custom workflow builds, tips and tricks that go against the norm, and even some basic refreshers you may have overlooked during your busy workday.

Conclusion: I’ll be attending Zoomtopia (and you should too)
Zoomtopia 2025 promises to be full of AI innovations, a clear customer focus, and backed by top class speakers and sessions.
With the option to tune in wherever you are, Zoom’s made it extremely hard to find a reason to miss its flagship conference this year.
